Miami University - Chemistry & Biochemistry: Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry (synthesis) to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses; develop and maintain a nationally-recognized, externally-funded research program that includes undergraduate-, masters-, and doctoral-level students; maintain an active research agenda; advise students; and provide service to the University.

Required: Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience in chemistry or closely related discipline by date of appointment. Consideration may be given to those with research areas complementing existing strengths in medicinal/biological and/or materials chemistry.

Company

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Miami University currently has 23 full-time faculty members on the Oxford Campus, 3 full-time members on the Middletown Campus, and 1 full-time faculty member on the Hamilton Campus. On the Oxford Campus, the Department is housed in Hughes Laboratories where some 80,000 square feet of space are available for teaching and research. The University's Science Library is housed in the west wing of Hughes. The Department offers the B.S., the A.B., the M.S., and the Ph.D. degrees. Currently, there are about 290 undergraduate, 20 M.S., and 30 Ph.D. students majoring in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
