Job Details

The Chemistry Department at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL is seeking candidates with expertise in Chemistry for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor appointment starting August 2025. The successful applicant will be expected to provide exceptional instruction at the undergraduate level, successful research with undergraduates, and perform other duties as required. Outstanding candidates in all areas of chemistry and interdisciplinary areas involving physical chemistry will be considered. Teaching assignments will be in the areas of Physical Chemistry (lecture and laboratory) and related fields.  The candidate must have a PhD in Chemistry from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.  Preference will be for candidates who take computational approaches to address chemical problems, informed by a physical chemistry perspective, broadly defined.
