Description
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at DePaul University in Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position commencing in the Fall of 2025 at the level of Assistant Professor. Ideal candidates will have a PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry and will be expected to:
Teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate level including lectures and labs for organic chemistry and possibly biochemistry. Candidates may also teach upper-level electives in the chemistry or biochemistry major, graduate courses, and electives for non-science majors. Develop an active research program within their area of expertise that results in publications in peer-reviewed journals. Contribute actively in service to the Department, College, and University.
About the Department
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is an ACS accredited department offering BA and BS degrees in Chemistry and in Biochemistry, and MS degrees in chemistry with thesis and non-thesis options. The department is comprised of research-active tenure line faculty and full-time teaching faculty. The department is housed on the Lincoln Park campus on the north side of Chicago with close proximity to public transportation.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
- PhD in chemistry or biochemistry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience teaching at the college level
- Experience working with diverse student groups
- Postdoctoral experience
