Bolstered by a $125 million investment, Florida State University aims to significantly enhance its
biomedical and translational research portfolio. In concert with this strategic investment, the
Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the rank
of Assistant Professor, 9 Month Salaried, in the area of Biomaterials, broadly defined. We seek
areas of research that intersect with chemistry, biomaterials and health, and support Florida
State University in its effort to expand health-related research in partnership with regional
healthcare facilities including Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare and the Mayo Clinic. We seek a
creative colleague to add to a thriving Department that continues to make significant advances
at the interface of chemistry and health across many subfields.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized
and externally funded research program in addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate
courses. Application materials including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a research prospectus,
and a teaching statement should be uploaded with the online application for job ID 58549 at
https://jobs.fsu.edu. Candidates should also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be
sent via email to biomatsearch@chem.fsu.edu. Application review will begin on October 16,
2024.
