The Department of Chemistry at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites applications for a 3-year, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor of Chemistry benefits-eligible instructional position that will begin August 10, 2025. This full-time teaching faculty appointment carries a service component commensurate with rank, and comes with the possibility of ongoing renewals and a framework for promotion.
This position complements two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Biochemistry (Chemistry Department) and Cell Biology (Biology Department) advertised separately.
We seek an individual with expertise in organic chemistry and strong evidence for commitment to excellence in undergraduate course and laboratory instruction. The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a [3-3] teaching load emphasizing courses at all levels in the organic chemistry curriculum and including general chemistry courses and labs. While this is a 9-month, academic year faculty appointment, enrollment-based supplementary income, in the form of a separate summer school instructional contract, is available for teaching summer school courses.
