The Department of Chemistry at Vassar College invites applications for a 3-year renewable position at the rank of a Lecturer, beginning in August 2025.

Position Description

We seek a full-time colleague  to teach lectures and laboratories in the Organic Chemistry program. Candidates should have a PhD in chemistry with demonstrated interest in and/or expertise in pedagogy and a strong commitment to working in a collaborative team environment. The position is a 3-year renewable appointment. The teaching load is 5 courses per academic year and involves active participation in curriculum development within the department. 

Salary Wage Range

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The annual base starting salary range for this position is $87,000 to $91,000 (USD ). This range includes new lecturer appointments beginning the first year of a standard 3-year contract (renewable) as well as Lecturers with previous teaching experience. When extending an offer of employment, Vassar College considers factors such as (but not limited to) candidate’s education/training, work experience, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations. This salary range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting. The starting salary for a Lecture with a PhD beginning the first year of a standard 3-year contract in Fall 2025 is $91,000.
