Job Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Science, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a rank of assistant or associate Professor, a tenure-track position beginning Fall 2025. We seek outstanding candidates with expertise in synthetic organic, bioorganic, bioinorganic, or medicinal chemistry or biochemistry. Research interests should intersect synthetic chemistry expertise with biochemical assay development, multi-omics discovery, and/or computational modeling to translate the findings in the laboratory to clinical outcomes at the bedside. Special interest is sought in the area of chemical neuroscience to address issues related to nervous system and the development of new treatments for neurological disorders. Candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related area, and post-doctoral experience. We are seeking candidates whose research interests will complement existing strengths in the Department (http://www.uta.edu/chemistry).Successful candidates are expected to establish an internationally recognized, independent research group, including supervision and mentoring of graduate students and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Tenure-track faculty are expected to initiate and maintain a well-funded research program and teach graduate and undergraduate organic, medicinal chemistry or biochemistry.
Required qualifications
PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related area. Post-doctoral experience.
