Job Details

The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. Candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent degree, in chemical engineering or a related discipline, at the time of hire. The successful applicant will be expected to teach chemical engineering courses and develop an internationally recognized research program. The search is focused on computational areas within chemical engineering, with particular preference given to candidates utilizing computational and big data methodologies to address challenges in energy, the environment, and materials. These areas complement the traditional strengths of chemical engineering, and align with Yale’s current strategic initiatives in science and engineering. Candidates who can establish strong collaborative efforts, both within the department and across the university, are especially encouraged to apply.

Applications should include a cover letter, CV, three representative publications, a description of research interests, a description of teaching interests, and three confidential letters of recommendation. The review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The application submission deadline is December 15, 2024. Any inquiries should be directed to the department chair, Prof. Jordan Peccia, at Jordan.peccia@yale.edu.
