The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank for Fall 2025. Candidates with research interests in any area of chemistry or biochemistry are encouraged to apply. The applicants must have: a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in chemistry, biochemistry or a closely related field; relevant postdoctoral or equivalent research experience; a strong publication record; potential to establish an externally-funded, nationally-recognized research program that aligns with one or both of our Materials Science, Engineering and Commercialization or Integrated Molecular and Biophysical Chemistry PhD programs; and the ability to teach chemistry, biochemistry, or materials science courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Candidates should also have research expertise that complements the Department and be able to effectively mentor chemistry or biochemistry undergraduate and graduate students.  The department is especially interested in candidates with expertise in polymers/soft materials, but all areas of research will be considered.  Application materials including: (i) a cover letter summarizing relevant experience, research area and how this complements the Department, (ii) a curriculum vitae, (iii) a description of research plans (up to 5 pages), (iv) description of teaching interests and experience and how you will approach teaching at Texas State University (no more than 1 page), (v) a description of mentoring experience and how you will contribute to the training and development of undergraduate and graduate research students (no more than 1 page), (vi) unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and (vii) letters from three references must be submitted through the Texas State University website at https://jobs.hr.txstate.edu/postings/49329.
