The Department of Chemistry at the University of North Texas (UNT) located in Denton, Texas invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in chemical catalysis, to begin September 1, 2025. Candidates should have a record of peer-reviewed publications, a strong commitment to research and teaching, and compelling ideas for an independent research program in catalysis, with a strong preference for the broad area of experimental heterogeneous catalysis. This may encompass surface science, electrocatalysis, operando studies of catalysis, biocatalysis, or other topical research areas in fundamental and applied catalysis science. Development of a nationally and internationally visible, externally-funded research program is expected. The new faculty member will have access to substantial research support infrastructure in the Chemistry Department, including staffed NMR, X-ray diffraction, and high-performance computing facilities; a stockroom; and a shared instrumentation laboratory that houses a suite of equipment for chromatographic, spectroscopic, mass spectrometric, gravimetric, and microscopic analysis of samples.

Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field, and a record of peer-reviewed publications in chemistry or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications: Postdoctoral experience, and a record of peer-reviewed publications in heterogeneous catalysis.
