The Department of Chemistry at Middle Tennessee State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in inorganic chemistry at the assistant/associate professor rank. All inorganic applicants are encouraged to apply but there will be a focus on candidates with proposed research in computational inorganic chemistry. The start date for this position is August 1, 2025. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or an allied field, with post-doctoral experience being preferred. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and effective teacher who is expected to develop an externally funded, nationally recognized research program involving undergraduates, master’s students, and students from interdisciplinary doctoral programs. Applicants whose proposed research area and experience complement existing research programs in the Department are particularly encouraged to apply. The Department of Chemistry (www.mtsu.edu/chemistry) has 33 full-time faculty members, and offers ACS-certified degrees in Chemistry and ASBMB accredited Biochemistry, a MS degree in Chemistry, and Ph.D. degrees in three interdisciplinary science programs (Computational Science, Molecular Biosciences, and Mathematics & Science Education).
