At Mount Sinai, we have developed novel strategies for delivering RNA therapeutics to specific organs through intravenous delivery, including lipid nanoparticles capable of crossing the blood–brain barrier and conjugate-based systems enabling biomacromolecule transport into the brain.
These advances were achieved through experimental and empirical approaches. We are now seeking to supercharge this discovery process using artificial intelligence.
This role will focus on building AI-driven platforms to design tissue-specific lipid nanoparticle (LNP) systems and RNA therapeutics, enabling a new generation of targeted delivery technologies for human diseases.
Requirements
PhD, MD, or equivalent experience in computational biology, machine learning, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or related fields
Strong background in machine learning, generative models, or scientific AI applications
Experience working with molecular design, drug delivery systems, or nucleic acid therapeutics is highly desirable
Expertise in Python and modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow)
Familiarity with structure–function modeling, cheminformatics, or materials design
Interest in working at the interface of AI, biology, and translational medicine
Ability to collaborate across computational and experimental teams
